January is I love to read!

Here are some pictures and comments from the students about January:

Mme Burnett read us a French dinosaur book about being fussy at the doctor.

Gem is a hearing dog. She is fantastic and she is good at listening.

Here is a picture of us playing the Ho Ho Ho game in December. We were using Sully's mitts and we had to unwrap several layers. It was really fun!

This is a picture of us when we went bowling. Some parents volunteered to come with us, it was so much fun!

Mr. McKiel came and read us a few books. He is an unpublished author!

This is a picture of when Mme Hussey, our previous principal, came to read to us!

We read The Moccasin Goalie and talked about beading. This is when we beaded to make mittens from a long time ago. We made one mitten, not two.

This is a picture of when Constable Alanna came and read The Golden Rule to us. The golden rule is to treat people the way you want to be treated. She talked about her job too!

Some students painted and made stuff out of clay for the pottery club!

This year we were doing science activities from a special science crate from the University of Manitoba! This activity was trying to make the arch of an igloo. It was really hard!

We were making tipis and it wasn't hard for our group but it was hard to tie it!

This activity was making a hogan. It is a First Nations type of house.

In this listening centre we learned about a different type of dance and music.

It was fun to make spider web rooftops out of pipe cleaners. They are very colourful! Shana's was the strongest.

Another activity was using the iPads to explore A-Z Maps.

Our final activity was looking at designs and making totem poles.

We are working on Xtra math. We are learning multiplication.
January was so much fun! It was the best month so far!
